Evolving an acne care company where rigorous science meets care.

Clearstem makes science-driven skincare for people who break out. Founded in 2017, the California-based company’s growth skyrocketed in a few short years, establishing the brand as the name in clean, efficacious acne care with anti-aging benefits. But within the category, Clearstem’s brand experience failed to treat their customer differently than clinical counterparts who offer a pharmaceutical feel focused “on elimination at all costs”. Clearstem’s vision was different.

With new products and category expansions on the horizon, Clearstem didn't just need a refresh. They needed an architecture — a system smart enough to organize a growing portfolio and clear enough to make every product feel like exactly the right choice. Wedge started with structure.


Strategically, we defined the "Clear Skin System", an architecture that maps Clearstem's entire range by use case and need. Lines like Prevent + Support, Clear + Clarify, and Active Breakout are defined and color-coded to do what Clearstem's science does: Meet people where they are with confidence, guidance, precision, and softness.

The modular design system strategically puts information and clarity at the center, for an ingredient-obsessed customer. Every element is considered and optimized whether browsing online or on-shelf. Ultimately, delivering a system that could keep up with the ambition behind it.
